A so called friend of mine was arrested because
he was drunk and charged with PUBLIC
SWEARING/INTOXICATION in Public This is the 3rd time in less then one year.
. He was released on a summons. It means that he is "released on his own
recognizance" Basically, he is still charged with those crimes, and he has
to appear in court on the date on the
summons, but when he is not in court, he is free to go wherever he wants, as
long as he does not leave the city that he is in, and that he appears in court.
If he leaves the city or state, the Judge will issue a bench warrant for his arrest, and he will be held in jail for
the duration of his trial after his arrest.
